Gentle treatment of healthy fast food


Fruit is healthy! For this reason nutritional experts and physicians recommend a daily intake of lots of fruit as an integral part of a healthy diet.

The starting situation

That is why a leading food manufacturer put a new drink on the market, which contains the daily requirement of fruit in a small bottle. They are now looking for suitable pumps to deliver the drink, which consists of fruit puree, fruit pieces and juice, to the various processing areas within the plant.

The solution

These pumps must be able to gently deliver the product under high pressure without destroying the fruit pieces. Tests with various pump types showed that only one type of pump came up to their expectations: the progressive cavity pump.

Several successful test series, during which the pumps were tested using the original product, resulted in the delivery of the pumps by seepex. The special construction of the two conveyor elements, Rotor and Stator, ensures the non-destructive delivery of the products before and after the conveyance process.

Only seepex BCSB series pumps are used, which have been specially developed for the food industry. Initially, the drink is pumped from the degassing facility into the pasteurizer, with a feed pressure of 24 bar. From there another seepex pump delivers the pasteurized product to the bottling facility.

The cleaning of the pumps after every charge is important for a hygienic application. For this purpose the pumps are equipped with a CIP-connection. This system (Cleaning in Place) allows the entire cleaning of the pump without the need to disassemble it.
The benefit

The producer is enthusiastic about the seepex pumps, which convey the product without any problems. And the significant time saving factor, due to the nonrequirement of disassembly, pays off as well.
