Wolf ButterBack produces premium frozen baked goods for the baking industry. Each baked good is frozen at the end of the production process. SEEPEX provided a customized solution for their production process that achieved an impressive degree of functionality, reliability and automation.

Background

The dough pieces are deep fried in fat and at Wolf ButterBack that means in pure butter. In one day, 18 tons of butter and 40 tons of flour are processed and that number keeps rising.

Task

A technical solution was needed to fill the boiling pan hygienically, reliably and fully automatically with melted butter blocks for this 'butter bath'.

Solution

SEEPEX recommended using a specially designed BTCS hygienic open hopper pump. This customized solution yielded decisive advantages.

The casing parts and stator are equipped with a heated double jacket to melt the blocks of fat inside the pump. A customized auger feed screw ensures a high volumetric efficiency and consistent operation.

In the closed system with heated piping, the fat can now be fed to the pan hygienically, fully automatically and exactly as required. This makes it possible to produce up to 12,000 pieces of deep-fried pastry products an hour.

Since commissioning, the SEEPEX pump fulfills its task reliably, trouble-free and fully automatically. Only the blocks of fat have to be fed in manually.
