SEEPEX FlowShred: Shredding System for Pumpable Transport of Food Waste

With FlowShred, SEEPEX introduces a solids conditioning system equipped with a twin-shaft grinder. It efficiently reduces heterogeneous organic waste from food production to uniform particle sizes, making it immediately pumpable.

This compact solution integrates shredding and conveying in a single, coordinated unit, allowing food manufacturers to process organic residues reliably, safely, and with full control.

Process Steps: From Residue to Pumpable Medium

  1. Material Intake

    Food waste is fed into the system via an open hopper.
  2. Shredding

    The twin-shaft grinder reduces heterogeneous residues to a uniform particle size of approximately 10–20 mm (0.4–0.8 in), creating a consistent, pumpable medium.
  3. Pump Conveying

    The progressive cavity pump installed below continuously and reliably conveys the shredded material through pipelines to collection tanks or silos. For longer conveying distances, Smart Air Injection can be used to further enhance efficiency.

Optimized Material Intake with Snail Geometry

The innovative snail geometry ensures smooth and consistent material intake. Cutting tools with varying radii and tooth profiles gradually capture large or round components, preventing bridging and maintaining a stable material flow.
