Mining chemicals influence flotation, leaching, elution, detoxification, pH control, and water treatment. Each process depends on reagents reaching the right point at the required concentration and flow rate. When delivery is consistent, process changes are easier to interpret and chemical consumption is easier to control. When delivery varies, the plant may compensate with more reagent, repeated adjustments, or wider operating margins.

The challenge is not simply choosing the right chemical. Mining operations handle reagents with widely different physical and chemical properties, including sodium cyanide, xanthates, MIBC, caustic soda, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sodium metabisulfite. Concentration, viscosity, corrosiveness, operating pressure, and chemical compatibility all influence how these reagents should be stored, transferred, and dosed.

SEEPEX progressive cavity pumps convey chemicals through fixed-shape cavities, providing controlled volumetric flow with minimal pulsation. This helps maintain dosing accuracy without pulse shock, even when operating pressures, viscosities, or concentrations vary within the selected duty.

The objective is straightforward: Dose reagents that behave the same every shift.

Repeatable Dosing Creates a Stable Chemical Input

Across these pages, the same relationship becomes clear: selecting the right reagent is only the beginning. The chemical must also be delivered accurately, steadily, and using materials compatible with the complete duty. If pressure, pulsation, wear, corrosion, or poor system design changes the delivered flow, the process receives a different chemical input than the control system expects.

SEEPEX MD and BN pumps address different capacity ranges through the same progressive cavity pump principle. MD metering pumps support precise lower-flow chemical dosing, while BN pumps extend controlled, pulse-free delivery to larger reagent volumes. A broad choice of construction materials helps match the pump to different chemical concentrations and operating conditions. Where maintenance affects availability, SCT and SSH simplify service and reduce disruption.

A reliable dosing system connects chemical storage, pump selection, pipework, measurement, controls, containment, and maintenance into one repeatable process. That is the difference between recording chemical consumption and knowing that the intended dose actually reached the process.
